ACCESSORY COLLECTION FOR SPRING - SUMMER 2010
For summer 2010, the accessory collection features a number of references to the sensuality and style of the Ricci woman. Peter Copping‘s reinterpretation of the knot and the twist brings a breath of freshness to the traditional codes of the House while maintaining their authenticity. Draped and smocked leather on the handbag volumes echoes the cut of the Nina Ricci dresses and the couture know-how of the House. On shoes, lace, eyelet embroidery and elastic detailing bring to mind the delicacy and
refinement of the lingerie. Powder, mauve and sand shades provide a palette tinted with romanticism that balances highlights in black and midnight blue. Amber-colored accents on the handbags and jewelry are a playful nod to the color of l‘Air du Temps. Materials and textures mix together in subtle harmony. Satiny ostrich skin, sequins, varnish, metal, porcelain: these are symbols of a collection that in all ways favors eclecticism in the feminine wardrobe.
ACCESSORIES COLLECTION EXTRACT
The Nina Ricci leather goods collection is the latest addition to the French brand‘s luxury products. In development under the new and watchful eye of designer Peter Copping, the bags are an embodiment of the codes and heritage of the brand. Thus, the twist, a House emblem, brings to mind the legendary Air du Temps bottle, and a tiny bow adorns each bag as a tribute to the femininity of Madam Ricci. Nina Ricci leather goods maintain
fine Italian craftsmanship and focus on clean lines; they continue the lyre emblem and the twisted braids of leather and metal that have quickly become recognizable symbols of the House. Following the great leatherworking tradition, more than one hundred meticulous manual operations are required to produce each item. The production of metal components and the noble leathers are specifically developed to meet the strict Nina Ricci Quality Charter. This means that each Ricci handbag, shoe or wallet is unique.
